For those of you not driving, there is a regular bus service travelling between Inverness and Cromarty (note that this service does not run on Sundays).

Inverness may be reached easily from all parts of the country by train or coach, and there are regular flights to Inverness from many UK airports, including London Gatwick and Luton.
